As usual in the NFL a few teams preform poorly and because of that there is always talk about firing coaches which is no different this year.  There is lots of talk about coaches possibly getting the ax around the league and Jack Del Rio of the Jags has already been fired.  One big name coach that is on the hot seat is Andy Reid who has been extremely successful in Philadelphia, but this year the new “dream team” has not panned out.  We also have one right here at home coaching the 4-7 Chiefs, Todd Hailey (you can find my opinion here).  Tony Sparano and Jim Caldwell have been in an argument over who has the worst team this season and it seems lately Jim Caldwell is pulling away, but many think that Tony is still on the hot seat.  So many coaches should and will be fired because of this season and I certainly think that we are going to see more coaches fired before the end of the season.

Andy Reid:  Philadelphia Eagles (4-7)

Last year Andy Reid and the Eagles coaching staff were faced with a decision on which QB they wanted to replace longtime Eagle Donovan McNabb with.  Their choice was between Kevin Kolb and Mike Vick.  Originally they went with what looked like the more safe decision in Kevin Kolb, but they were forced to play the scrambling QB Vick after Kolb sustained an injury.  Michael Vick preformed very well and took over the starting job from Kevin Kolb even after Kolb was healed.  Last season Vick and Desean Jackson were an unstoppable QB/WR duo with 1,056 yards, 22.5 yards per catch, 9 TD, and his longest catch being 91 yards.  Since the Eagles had decided that Vick was their QB in the offseason Philly traded away Kevin Kolb to the Cards.  This season that has all turned around and the team is playing awful, Jackson can’t catch the football, and the “all-star” defense is playing like a bunch of rookies.  Even though Andy has been very successful and in many people’s opinions (including mine) a great coach, this team has not played good at all this season and I think it may be time for a coaching change.  Many times it happens where a coaches’ message just gets stale to a team when the coach has been at a certain place for a while, and to me this looks like the case in Philadelphia.

Jim Caldwell: Indianapolis Colts (0-11)

At the beginning of the season no one expected the Colts to be as bad they have been.  I think that it should be obvious that this head coach is at least somewhat on the hot seat seeing as the Colts haven’t won a game yet this year.  This season the Colts have had to go without their best player Peyton Manning due to his severe neck injury and have had to use Kerry Collins, Curtis Painter, and Dan Orlovsky, at QB, who haven’t played well.  It hasn’t just been the QBs it has been the whole team.  This week the defensive coordinator was fired.  I think that shows that the front office is ready for something to change and I am not sure that Jim Caldwell will be saved just because Manning isn’t playing.  I think that Caldwell’s seat is burning red hot right now and and rightfully so.  Losing your best player is difficult and I think winning less games is warranted, but not winning a game is ridiculous after making the playoffs the year before.  In my opinion Jim Caldwell needs to go, and I think that he will.

Tony Sparano: Miami Dolphins (3-8)

This year the Miami Dolphins had not played well until Week 9 against (of course) the Chiefs, when it looked  like a fire just started burning in them.  Over the course of weeks 9-11 the Miami Dolphins gave up just 20 points and scored 86 points, while doing that they looked great.  Last week they fell to Dallas by 1 point, but they still played extremely well.  The fact that they didn’t win a game in the first 8 weeks of the regular season keeps him on the hot seat.  I think that the Dolphins will finish strong and keep their head coach around for another year, if Reggie Bush can play well then I think they will win some more games this season.  If the Phins don’t play well then Sparano should be fired along with the rest of the coaching staff.

Now you know what I think, what do you?
