On Wednesday, Nov. 23 the Kansas City Chiefs picked up QB Kyle Orton off waivers, who was dropped by the Denver Broncos on Tuesday.  The Bears and Cowboys also placed claims, but they have better records and are 22nd and 30th in line for waivers.  They Chiefs having a 4-6 are towards the top of the waiver line, which gave them Kyle Orton.  According to the Kansas City Star Kyle Orton will not start this Sunday night against the Steelers, seeing as he did not get to practice on Thursday and still hadn’t learned a bit of the Chiefs offense.  Orton played most recently for the Chiefs rivals the Denver Broncos and for the Chicago Bears who traded him to Denver.  Kyle has been inconsistent over his 7 career, having really good stretches in his career and not so great times in his 7 years.  Orton has a 83.3 rating the past three years in Denver whereas Matt Cassel has had 79.8 rating in his time with the Chiefs.  Recently Kyle Orton hasn’t had a big time receiver because Denver traded away Brandon Marshall after his first year playing for the Broncos.  I think Dwayne Bowe can be a major option for Kyle Orton when he finally gets to play most likely on Dec. 4 against the Chicago Bears.  I have heard a lot of friends and even analysts saying that Orton is definitely a better QB than Tyler Palko, but they think that Matt Cassel is better than him and this won’t be a long term fix.  I completely disagree with that, I think that Kyle Orton will be a good Quarterback here in KC and I hope at the end of the season we will re-sign him and make him our starting QB.  I have never thought that Matt Cassel was a good player and I think that he was well fit for his previous job in New England as a backup.  Kyle Orton, when given an option to throw to, has been very good, and I think that makes him a better Quarterback than Cassel.  This year Cassel has had three decent options in the passing attack, and has done nothing all year long.  I know many people (including me) in Kansas City were overjoyed when  it was announced Cassel was out for the season, and Palko was going to be given a shot at running the offense.  The Tyler Palko experiment now seems like it is going to be a failed project seeing as he couldn’t do anything against the worst secondary in the league.  I am not going sit here and say to you that we aren’t going to lose another game this season because of this addition, but I do think we have a better chance at winning another game this season.  We have an extremely tough schedule left this season and I think it may be hard for Kyle Orton to prove himself. but I have faith that he can win the Chiefs another game.  How do you that Kyle Orton will do in Kansas City?
